PROJECT EXPERIENCE WITH EOTO

Each One  Teach One has been a memorable experience for us four friends - Anant, Bijoy, Shanai and myself Dhruv. In the past six months, we have  learnt the art of teaching and helping - Seeing the alive faces of these young children- their want to study, learn and achieve has been incredible, the hope that brightens their face every Saturday morning is so fulfilling, an indelible and life changing experience for us. This one hour in a week has taught us to be patient, compassionate and most importantly be a sensitive teacher not just a self-centred student.

I often wondered what was the compelling force behind the start of Each One Teach One but truly never thought that the story could be so inspiring...I had never realised the importance of our contribution until I met the jewel founder, Jyoti didi.

She overcame all obstacles on her own, a brave heart, a determined lady who fought against all odds Just so that she could empower a child with education. Her journey from mentoring  3 children to over 25000 children has made me realise something simple but true - if you have a dream, if you believe in your dream, you can move mountains. Didi has become my hero, an inspiration for me. watching her share life anecdotes itself is an enriching experience - love flows out of her eyes, her smile and her soul and her caring attitude made my heart melt; I, for the first time, realised how fortunate I am to get the best education and am grateful that didi has shown me direction to repay my blessings through holding out my hands for the lesser privileged.

Meeting didi itself was a metamorphosis in my life, she is the most amazing person I have ever met and I thank her for given me this utmost strength to spread the message of education.

Education is the supreme fuel to our country's growth and Each One Teach One is a small step towards a big change. As I write my experience, somewhere within me I also etch the same words in my soul - I must be a part of this change, I must contribute to this revolution that didi and her team have begun. We the young generation must not let her dream dwindle ever...
