Cupcake Making Activity at Shangrila hotel by EOTO children
On Saturday, 20th July, 2013 EOTO children from Shishuvihar school participated in a Cupcake Making Activity at Shangri-La Hotel, Mumbai. At the beginning the children were given information on hospitality , various departments in the Hotel and their functions. Here they got good exposure to possible career options available in this industry. They were then taken to the banquet kitchen where the chefs introduced the kitchen sections, spoke of and demonstrated hygiene standards (hand washing).
The kids were informed of the history and origin of cupcakes, shown how to use various frostings and decorative ingredients to dress up cupcakes. Each student had an opportunity to learn and practice the use of a piping bag and decorate his/her cupcakes. The children participated enthusiastically in the activity which was a novice experience for them. They had a fun time which made their day.
We thank Shangri-La for giving this fabulous opportunity to our children. They got valuable information and learnt a new useful skill.
