Sanket’s parents are poor farmers, and his family which also comprises of two sisters live in the village. He is staying with his paternal grandparents. He was very poor in studies before he joined EOTO. But now he takes keen interest in studies and is doing his best to get good marks. Apart from studies, he is also actively participating in extra-curricular activities.

Ganesh lost his parents at a young age. He is living with his maternal grandparents and uncles. He was a shy and a very reserved boy before joining EOTO. Now he is in 9th standard and takes part in a lot of extra-curricular activities. He has won prizes in many competitions. His achievements are as follows:

Rubina Aziz Mukkadam hails from a economically weak background; her father being a welder and mother a house helper .The monthly income totals up to just a mere 6000/- for a family of five. In spite of financial instability and a disturbed home atmosphere she always passed out with flying colors. In the year 2011, she appeared for the SSC board examination and as expected she was one of the toppers of Shishuvihar school securing 87%. As far as extracurricular activities are concerned, she took part in all EOTO and school activities. She also won a prize in the oratory completion. Her hobbies are dancing, reading and drawing. Presently Rubina is pursuing Science at College and wants to become a Software Professional.

Gender Sensitization

A workshop on Gender Sensitization was conducted by Dr. Shraddha Shah and her colleagues from Tatwa Health Foundation for the students of Chunabhatti Municipal School. 55 students from 8th to 10th std participated in the workshop. The resource people made the sessions student friendly and covered biological and psychological aspect of gender sensitization. The inclusion of Audio Visual clippings made the communication to the children more effective.

Train the Trainers
Two of EOTO teachers , Ms. Deepa Ubhaykar and Ms. Bhavna Mhatre participated in a Mathematics Workshop organized by iVolunteer, an NGO. The workshop focused on the techniques to perform faster mathematical calculations. The workshop was conducted by Mr. Nath, a retired person from Reserve Bank of India. Mr. Nath is very passionate about teaching recreational mathematics to the needy children.
